Having experienced a variety of high quality olive oils, I think it is the tradition of growth and production that makes Croatian oil unique. The tradition is followed as a family principle and an exploration before commercial interest. All three Croatian producers I’ve tasted were excellent, but Chiavalon was the best among them. To me, Chiavalon oils bring bolder and finer impressions than the most celebrated brands from Tuscany, California, Spain or anywhere else I’ve experienced.
